Axel Einar Hjorth (1888-1959), a Swedish furniture designer, was a key figure in Swedish modernism. His sleek, Art Deco-influenced designs earned international acclaim, inspiring a new generation of Swedish designers. As Nordiska Kompaniet's chief designer from 1927, he crafted interiors for the Shah of Persia. In 1938, Hjorth launched his business, working for ASKI in the 1950s until his passing in 1959.
