Carl Malmsten (1888–1972) was a Swedish furniture designer and architect who upheld traditional craftsmanship, opposing functionalism. He won a 1916 competition to design furniture for Stockholm City Hall, exhibiting alongside renowned architects. He founded a Stockholm furniture store, currently run by his grandson. Malmsten's legacy includes schools he established and a lasting influence on Swedish furniture design.
