Hans Wegner's style has often been described as Organic Functionality. He was a perfectionist, always searching for new, better, more efficient and elegant ways to create beautiful furniture. He once said he wish it was possible for someone to design at least one good chair in their lifetime, but it wasn't. Despite his stance, he was known as the King of Chairs and responsible for the popularity of the Scandinavian Modernist movement, alongside Arne Jacobsen and Alvar Aalto. He won the Lunning Prize and the Milan design triennale prize. He has also received the honorary title of royal designer by the London Society of Arts.
